As Easter Sunday nears on March 27, you may be thinking about fun ways to decorate Easter Eggs. Amanda has a perfect alternative to the typical method of hand-painting or dying eggs. Amanda's surprise ingredient, 100% silk ties, will be a serious upgrade to your Easter egg tradition and will be a fun activity for the whole family.

To make Amanda's Easter eggs, you need 100% silk ties, white fabric, vinegar and rubber bands. Amanda suggests buying inexpensive ties from the thrift store. "The uglier the better," she urges.
First, cut the ties so they lay flat. Take out the lining and throw it away. Next, pour 1 1/2 cup vinegar into a pot and fill the rest with water. Bring the mixture to boil.
Place the egg in the widest part of the tie and wrap it, securing the tie with a rubber band. Wrap the eggs in the white fabric and secure it with another rubber band. Now, drop the eggs in the boiling water and let them sit for 20 minutes.
When you remove the eggs, let them cool before unwrapping them. You will be impressed with the vibrant designs that appear on your eggs! You can see full instructions at It's a Fabulous Life.
