How to make a DIY lace-covered terracotta planter

A potted plant is a sure-fire way to bring new life into a drab room, but sometimes a little creativity can take your decoration game to the next level. Elsie Larson, the founder of home and lifestyle blog A Beautiful Mess, posted a step-by-step instruction guide to spicing up potted plants in your home by using glue and lace.
Larson's idea is great because it's everything a DIY project should be: easy, inexpensive, and customizable. In fact, it's likely you already have all the necessary materials in your home already.

All you'll need to get started is a potted plant, lace, and some glue. The type of potting or lace doesn't matter, but try to get colors that contrast well with each other as the pot will still be visible through the fabric.
The real fun begins when you begin to make the designs your own. Feel free to cover as little or as much of the pot as you like, and don't be afraid to get creative! Feel free to experiment with different colors of coverings.

As some YouTubers have pointed out, you don't even need to use lace -- any fabric can make a beautiful design. If you need some inspiration, more photos of Larson's designs can be found on her blog.
