How to make a DIY light-up flower frame

Did you happen to find an old frame and some Christmas lights lying around during your spring cleaning? Well, we've discovered the perfect DIY project to repurpose these household items into a beautiful and springy accent piece ideal for any room of your home. Stylist and DIY guru Ann Le shows us how to turn these items into a fun light-up flower frame worthy of any boutique.
All you're going to need besides the frame and lights are: your favorite fake flowers, some electrical tape, garden fencing, a sturdy pair of scissors, a staple gun or hammer and nails, and a hot glue gun. With these vivid photos, and Le's fun and interactive video, you'll have a masterpiece worthy of any wall in your home in no time.

First, place your frame picture side down, and lay the garden fencing on top of the back of the frame. The fencing should overlap the back of the frame about an inch so that you have room to securely staple or nail it down. Cut the fencing to size, then secure it.
After you're done untangling your lights, lay them across the back of your frame and on top of the garden fencing. Once in place, secure the lights down with some strips of electrical tape. Also make sure to leave a little bit of the Christmas lights hanging off the end so you can plug it in when you're done.

To finish off your light-up flower frame, cut the stems and leaves off of your fake flowers. Flip your frame over to the front side, and begin laying out the flowers and leaves in a pattern or array you like.
Le says it's easiest to start in one corner, and then work your way out, "Scatter them a little bit, you want to mix some texture and colors into the mix." Once you fill in a small area the way you like it, begin hot gluing the leaves and flowers down. Then move on to the next area until the frame is completely filled.
When your frame is filled with all those beautiful flowers simply hang, plug in, and enjoy.
