How to make DIY pineapple and strawberry planters

It may be nearly impossible to grow fruit in your home, but it's definitely possible to make adorable planters that remind you of the real thing! Makoccino's DIY YouTube channel describes the exact process by which she creates two charming fruit-shaped planters: a pineapple and a strawberry.
Air-drying modelling clay, acrylic paint and brushes, small potted plants and empty pots are all that's needed to create these precious planters. Makoccino suggests using haworthia fasciata or aloe vera plants to simulate the pineapple's spiky crown and haworthia reusa for the strawberry leaves. Ensure the plants are in pots that fit inside the empty pots.

Shape the air-drying modelling clay around an empty pot. Makoccino's video shows you exactly how to get the fruit shapes, with a tapered bottom, wide top, and smooth edges.
Use the edge of a ruler to score diagonal lines into the clay to make it look like the rind of a pineapple. Makoccino used the tip of her paint brush to score little "seeds" into the strawberry planter.
After the clay has thoroughly dried, paint the fruit's body with acrylic paint in your desired color. Paint the pineapple's lines a slightly darker color than its body; the strawberry's seeds should be yellow or white, to contrast with the red.
When the paint has dried, simply insert the smaller pot with the plant still inside. This haworthia fasciata looks just like a pineapple crown!
And just like that, you have two super cute planters for your home! Don't forget to share these fruit-tastic ideas!
