Turn an old chandelier into a flower planter

There are so many creative ways to plant flowers these days, that to use a plain ol' pot starts to feel pretty boring after a while. Why not dress your planters up to match the beautiful flowers in them with this DIY chandelier idea?
You can use a chandelier you already have, pick one up from a thrift store, or put one together yourself using just a few tools and supplies. No matter which route you take, your new planter will undoubtedly add delight and whimsy to any corner of your yard, balcony, or porch.

The folks at DIY Show Off made this expensive-looking planter largely from scratch using an old chandelier, terra-cotta pots, spray paint, and Elmer's Probond glue.
But you don't even need conventional clay pots to make this look work. Take a page from NevaStarr's book, and gather up some old mugs or tea cups and a bit of Epoxy glue to create a makeshift succulent planter:
For a similar look without the mess of light bulbs and wiring, forego the chandelier for its close cousin, the candelabra.
At Redhead Can Decorate, they refreshed a used candelabra and upcycled shades from an old ceiling fan for this romantic (and economical) look. All it took was a creative mind and a few globs of glue.
You can even take your ingenuity a step further to create a feeder for all the critters you share your yard with. Tammy at Peachy Doodles and Polka Dots glued some bowls she found at the dollar store to a thrift store chandelier in order to make this elegant bird feeder:

With just a little bit of time, effort, and creativity, there's really no limit to the ways you can decorate your outdoor space with an old chandelier. Who knew!
