Dunk a doily in glue and rest on a bowl to create a funky piece of decor for the home

For hundreds of years, people have typically used doilies to protect surfaces and add decoration to tables. They've also been used as floral decoration and were much more common during multi-course dinners. Little lace doilies on an end table with a small, decorative glass jar of candy and a bowl of potpourri typically brings to mind images of childhood and grandma's house.

Today, we are going to check out some doily projects that are going to put a much more modern spin on the traditional use of these centuries-old lace pieces of cloth. So let's get started on some new and exciting ways to repurpose these crocheted circles.

The doilies don't even have to be square, which are harder to find. All of these are round and they look just perfect.
