Materials
Any type of yarn is suitable for this edging, but soft or fluffy textures would be especially effective. You'll need an appropriately-sized hook, check the yarn manufacturer's band for recommendations. You'll also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Pro tip: This pompom edging finishes off your work with a broad band of double crochet on both sides of your work before adding the embellishment of the puff balls.

Materials
This edging pompom stitch, sometimes called the puffy bullion block stitch, involves creating a large puff stitch so choose a yarn which is not too bulky. If you go for a chunky yarn, the puff will become clumsy and will be difficult to work. A light worsted to DK yarn would be ideal. You will also need a hook of the appropriate size - take a look at the manufacturer's yarn band for recommendations. Have some scissors and a tapestry needle to hand.
Pro tip: This edging creates a precise, neat look ideal for baby blankets.

Make sure the project you want to add your pom poms to is finished off with a smooth flat foundation row of single or double crochet. You will be working directly onto this edge.
Row 1: ch1 and single crochet into the first st at the start of your edge. *2ch then trc into the first st. Yo then insert hook through trc post, yo then pull up loop, 3 loops on the hook. Repeat this six more times. Keep loops on the hook, insert hook into next st, yo and pull through all loops on the hook. Now ch1 to secure. Sc into same st. 2sc then repeat from * to complete your edging.
