Watch how to crochet the clover or daisy stitch (video & written instructions)

If you'd like to add a touch of spring to your next project, you'll adore the clover or daisy stitch, a beautiful, flowery lace pattern which makes magical shawls, shrugs and scarves for the warmer weather.
The beauty of this pattern is that the flowers are all attached as you go along, so there's no sewing up to do at the end of the project. This stitch is lovely for little girls' dresses, a trim on sweaters or cardigans, or for table cloths and even curtain treatments.

Material
This is a delicate lacy flower stitch so you won't want to use a heavy weight yarn. Think of a light fingering weight, or possibly a DK. A variegated yarn can produce a very pretty effect with this stitch, without the need to swap colors and sew in lots of ends at the finish. Check your manufacturer's band for hook size suggestions. You'll also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle to weave in your ends.
