Crochet the double weave and link crochet stitch (video and written pattern)

If you're looking for a really distinctive and unusual crochet stitch, then the double weave and link pattern is for you. Although it looks very impressive, it's actually easy to pull off.
A highly textured, interlocking stitch, it looks great in two colors and makes a fantastic scarf that will really get people talking. Best of all, it only involves chains, single crochet and double crochet.

Materials
A DK or light fingering weight yarn is best for this stitch. The DK will give a warm, snuggly effect while the light fingering yarn will produce a much finer, lacy version of the stitch. This is the kind of project that would look great made up in a really luxurious, silky yarn. Check your yarn band for hook size suggestions. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
