Canvases aren't just for paint. Here are 10 ways to transform a cheap Walmart canvas

Canvases aren't just for paint! That's right; we're showing you some creative ways to turn a blank canvas into art using buttons, thread, Mod Podge ... and paint too!
The best part about these crafts is that you don't have to be born an artist to create your own work of art worthy of displaying with pride in your home. Bonus: All of these projects can be done super cheaply, using a regular, budget-priced canvas from Walmart!

3. DIY embroidered canvas (h/t Persia Lou)
Canvas makes a great material to embroider, yet we usually think of it as a paint-only zone. This project is so creative; it makes us want to get out our needles ASAP!
4. DIY photo canvas
Did you know you can make your own photo canvas?! That's right; the next time you take a photo you want to put on display, you don't need to send it in or pay big bucks! Check out how easy this is to do with the help of the video below:
5. Spray-painted doily canvas (h/t Shey B)
This project is super simple and comes together with just 3 materials.
6. Hand-lettered map (h/t Mod Podge Rocks Blog)
If paint is not your favorite medium to work with, this project will make you do a happy dance! All you need is a canvas, a map, a permanent marker and — you guessed it — Mod Podge.
7. White on white (h/t Virginia & Charlie)
For all the minimalists out there, this project is for you! Instead of plastering it in color, embrace the blank canvas and make a simple white design with puffy paint. The texture is super interesting and will make all your guests do a double take to get a closer look.
8. Grafitti string art (h/t Juggling Act Mama)
If the project above (No. 7) makes you yawn, we think this one might be a little more up your alley. The video below proves how good you can make a blank canvas look.
