In a few easy steps, transform old bottle caps into chic decor

Planning a romantic event on a budget or simply want to add a little personality to your next get-together? You'll love this funky idea for repurposing old bottle caps and an old candle from DIY Everywhere. These fun candles would also work for an emergency kit for some light in a pinch.
If you don't have bottle caps, but you'd like to try this project, you can buy them at a craft store or check out eBay for bulk orders for only a few dollars.

Materials
A pot of water
A metal bowl
Two medium-sized candles
Old bottle caps (cleaned)
Foil-lined cookie sheet
Wicks
Food coloring (optional)

Directions
1. Create a double boiler, by placing a metal bowl over the top of a saucepan filled about halfway full with water. Turn the stove on medium-high so the water heats.
2. Place your candles into the metal bowl and stir them every few minutes as they melt. (Bonus tip: You can add a bit of food coloring into the melted wax if you want to give your candles some color).

3. While the candles are melting, cover a cookie sheet with tin foil and place your bottle caps in rows on top. Place a wick in each bottle cap.
4. Pour your liquid candle into each bottle cap. You don't have to be totally precise with pouring as any spilled wax can be tossed or remelted later. Adjust your wick if needed.

5. The candles should set completely within a few hours. Once they are completely dry, use scissors to trim each wick as needed. Display as desired.
