Don't pass by vases at the thrift store anymore! Copy these fab DIY ideas

Whether you're displaying fresh flowers or a bouquet of fall leaves, gorgeous vases are a necessity. No one likes spending a ton of money on vases at the store, so what's a DIYer to do? Give some old vases a makeover, of course!
It's time to head to the thrift store and grab some vases. Don't be too picky — even the ugliest vases can be transformed into something beautiful!

1. DIY distressed glass (h/t Fox Hollow Cottage)
These distressed glass vases are so chic! I love the fall-themed look here, but I'm tempted to make my own vase and create a wintery arrangement of branches and red berries instead!
2. Matching vase set (h/t Prodigal Pieces)
Don't worry if you can't afford a matching set of vases — you can create your own by picking up a few pieces at the dollar store and painting them with a color you love! No one will ever guess that they weren't a matching set to begin with.
3. Bud vase centerpiece (h/t At Charlotte's House)
This bud vase centerpiece is so cheerful! If you can't find a set of tiny vases like these ones, I think you could get the same look with old spice bottles.
4. Glitter vases (h/t The Sweetest Occasion)
Glitter looks good on almost everything, and these vases are no exception! There's no reason you couldn't make this your everyday vase, but sparkly vases would also be perfect for a baby shower or a wedding.
5. Shell vase (h/t Homelife)
I don't know about you, but I always collect shells at the beach and then never do anything with them! This cute little shell vase is a great way to put your shell collection on display, but it could also be made with shells from the dollar store if you don't already have shells at home!
6. DIY mercury glass vases (h/t Style Me Pretty)
Mercury glass is beautiful, but it comes with a shocking price tag! Save yourself the expense by making your own. It takes a bit of practice to perfect the look, but I'd say the results are well worth it!
7. Farmhouse-style pitchers (h/t The Painted Hinge)
Thrift store pitchers always seem to be covered in outdated designs, but you can fix that problem with a simple coat of white paint! These adorable pitchers would look great in almost any setting.
8. Gold dipped vases (h/t Artsy Chicks Rule)
These gold dipped vases look just like the ones in high-end stores! Personally, I'd love to make a copper dipped vase, but I think these would still look good even if you used a bold color like pink or yellow.
9. Easy painted vases (h/t It All Started With Paint)
Pretty patterned vases never go out of style, but how do you make your own if you're not confident in your ability to paint a straight line! Use this lady's clever trick — stickers and washi tape covered with spray paint!
