Find out why women everywhere are sticking their mascara in their bras

When it comes to beauty hacks, many of them come and go as fast as they appear. Some seem like a good idea but don't pan out, yet others develop a kind of cult status and are passed down generation by generation.
While a lot of weird beauty tips may be circulating on the web, these are tried and true. Keep in mind that a few of them are just meant for dire circumstances (like number one), but many will make your day-to-day life a whole lot simpler.

1. Emergency undereye depuffing
This trick has been around for decades. No joke. Preparation H has long been used to stop puffiness in its tracks, but keep in mind this shouldn't be used every day. Use a minuscule, teeny, tiny bit below the eye only.

2. Prime your skin with Monistat
Yes, you did read that correctly. Monistat makes a chafing relief product that has many of the same properties as Smashbox's cult favorite Photo Finish primer without the high price tag. Just be sure you get the right one (not the one intended to treat yeast infections).
3. Warm your mascara...in your bra
Any product in your makeup arsenal that is liquid or cream-based can inevitably become thick and difficult to apply. When it comes to warming up your mascara, try tucking the sealed tube into your bra (or a cup of hot water) for a few minutes before application. The heat will thin the product and improve your results.
4. Make your blush last longer
Ever notice that your blush disappears before lunch? There's a hack for that! Apply cream-based blush with your fingertips immediately after your liquid foundation (before it dries), then set with powder for longevity.
5. Stain your lips with Kool-Aid
Most long-lasting lip stains have a really bad taste, which is probably why we ignore them for months before tossing them out. Good news! You can use powdered drink mix as a lip stain. Just pick your color, dab on with a wet fingertip, and clean up the edges with a cotton swab. Pretty tasty, huh? Get the full tutorial here.
6. Protect your lips with nipple cream
Still can't find the perfect lip balm? Well, you can throw out your Vaseline now because breastfeeding moms have the answer. Nipple cream is safe for both lactating mommies and their babies, and the lanolin in it softens lips perfectly without stickiness or unwanted flavors.
