Paint over some wooden dowels and create this effortless concept

Do you find yourself taking your jewelry off right before bed and placing it on the nightstand, only to have it all get tangled? Would you like to have a place to put jewelry that looks great and keeps it neat and organized?
With just a little bit of work, you can create a jewelry tepee that can be placed anywhere in the house where you tend to take off jewelry and leave it. The materials are inexpensive, but the end result is a functional shabby chic look.

Materials
- Ruler
- Pencil
- 3 dowels 1 foot long
- Blue painter's tape
- White paint
- Small paintbrush
- 3 feet of thin rope or twine
Instructions
1. Draw a line across the top of each dowel, 1 inch from the top.
2. Place a piece of blue painter's tape around each dowel below the line.
3. Paint the tops of the dowels with white paint. Remove the tape and let the dowels dry completely.
4. Stack the dowels in a pyramid, lengthwise on top of each other. Bind them together with the length of rope or twine about one-third of the way from the top. Tie off the ends in a knot and cut the ends so the sides are even.
5. Spread apart the legs of the tepee and place it on a nightstand or table.
6. Place jewelry on the top pieces of the tepee.
