Watch this beaker vanish right before your eyes (+6 science experiments that are like magic)

Have you ever been wowed by a science experiment? The results are so amazing you wonder how it is even possible. Sometimes science is so mind-blowing that it does appear to be pure magic, but it isn't. There is a scientific explanation for why the results were what they were. That is also the truth for magic as well.
These are 6 science experiments that you can perform for any crowd because they are like magic.
1. Make something invisible experiment (h/t SpanglerScienceTV)

This is a cool experiment that takes a glass and cooking oil and makes the glass completely invisible. You will be dealing with broken glass in this experiment, so you want to make sure you are taking all safety precautions and wearing protective gear. When you perform this experiment, you are sure to get tons of oh’s and ah’s.
2. Pencils through a bag of water experiment (h/t Awesmr Kids)
How is this possible? Multiple pencils through a bag of water without leaking? That doesn’t seem possible, but it is. This video will show you how to create this experiment that is great for any party or science fair. Watch the video, and get plenty of towels just in case you make a misstep.
3. Light a candle without touching it (h/t The Slow Mo Guys)
You may think you need a candle or lighter to relight your candles if you accidentally blow them out, but this experiment shows us that, that is not necessarily the case. Watch this video and see how the trickster is able to continuously relight the candle without touching the wick. Always be extra careful anytime you are working with fire.
4. Defy gravity with forks and toothpicks (h/t MCExperiments)
This experiment is one that never gets old and always excites the crowd. In this video, you will learn how to balance two forks on a toothpick and then balancing it on a glass. It may take you a few tries, but when you understand the principle of how it works, you will get it! Watch this video, and wow your family at dinner.
5. Balancing coins (h/t CrazyRussianHacker)
Similar to the forks and the toothpicks, this experiment/ magic trick is all about balance. You can take some of those same principles and apply them to the coins. Watch and follow along as this experimenter shows you how to stack coins on top of each other on the side of a glass.
6. World’s simplest electric train (h/t AmazingScience)
As the title suggests, this is the simplest electric train you can find. You will need a battery, four magnets, and a long coil of copper wiring. When you watch the video you will see how the experimenter sets up this experiment, and you will see the “train” move along the track without force. It is a cool trick and a great science experiment.
