How to make a terra-cotta bird bath

Decor for a garden or balcony is a fun way to add personality and design to an outdoor space, but it is often extremely expensive. Bird baths are especially costly and require lots of space as they are typically rather large.
With this DIY project, you don't have to worry about cost or space. This inexpensive terra-cotta bird bath is an effective way to bring some glam to an outdoor space such as a small patio or balcony. Materials
- Terra-cotta pot and saucer
- White paint
- Paintbrushes (one medium and one small)
- Diamond-shaped mirror tiles
- Circular mirror tiles
- Tile paste
- Cement mix
- Water
- Glass container
- Measuring cup
- Tablespoon measure
- Plastic putty knife
DIY Everywhere
Instructions
1. Paint the terra-cotta saucer white. Allow the paint to dry.
2. Using the tile paste, glue the diamond-shaped mirror tiles onto the saucer in a flower-like pattern.
3. Attach the circular mirror tiles to the inner lip of the saucer with the tile paste.
4. Paint the terra-cotta pot white and allow it to dry.
5. Apply the diamond-shaped mirror tiles to the side of the pot in the same pattern as on the saucer. Repeat this around the whole pot.
6. Apply circular mirror tiles in the spaces between the diamond mirror tile patterns.
7. Measure out 1/2 cup of cement mix into a glass container. Add 4 tablespoons of water to the cement mix. Mix with a plastic putty knife.
8. Cover both the terra-cotta pot and saucer with the cement mix. Do not cover the mirror tiles.
9. After the cement has dried, paint both the terra cotta pot and saucer with a small paintbrush, taking care not to get paint on the mirror tiles.

10. Turn the pot upside down and place the saucer on top. Fill the saucer with water.
