Spray paint some straws & get the chicest home decor yet

Although straws are a cheap and easily accessible material, they are unlikely to be the first thing to come to mind when thinking of DIY supplies. Turns out, however, that straws are perfect for making trendy geometric shapes. Geometric shapes are not only very on trend but also a super sleek and modern addition to any room.

Materials
- Plastic drinking straws
- Picture hanging wire
- Needle-nose pliers
- Ruler
- Marker
- Scissors
- Elastic bands
- Gold spray paint
Instructions

1. Feed the picture hanging wire through three drinking straws, bending the wire to form a triangle.

2. Knot the ends of the wire together with the needle-nose pliers.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2, building upon the first triangle to eventually form a triangular prism.

4. Continue to add wire and straws to the triangular prism using the instructions in step 1 and 2 to create a diamond. (The straws and wires should look like two triangular prisms put together.)

5. Use a ruler and a marker to mark the halfway point of straws that will form the cube and cut along each mark with scissors.

6. Use the same method for constructing the cube as to make the diamond, this time beginning with a square rather than a triangle.

7. Hang up the finished shapes with pieces of elastic band.

8. Paint the shapes with spray paint, making sure to get into all the angles.

9. Once the paint is dry, remove the elastic bands.

10. Place the diamond geometric shape inside the cube and put it on display.
