If you are forever misplacing your keys, then this DIY project is for you. With a mix of glam and rustic charm, a plastic animal key holder is both useful and chic.
Not only do you get a place to hang keys so you can keep track of where they are, you get a cute and easy way to dress up an entryway. Check out the instructions and video to get started on this adorable project.
- Small plastic animals, one for each key
- Scissors
-Heavy-duty box cutter
- Liquid metal paint
- Paintbrush
- Barn board cut to length
- Hot glue gun
- Twine
- Decorative tacks
1. Score the middle of each animal with scissors. This will help you to know where to make the final cut.
2. With the box cutter, cut along the score lines on each animal to cut them in half.
3. Paint the front halves of the animals with the liquid metal paint. Allow to dry.
4. Paint a border of liquid metal paint onto one side of the barn board.
5. Using the hot glue gun, glue the front half of each animal onto the barn board.
6. Cut off a small length of twine and tie a knot onto either end.
7. Place decorative tacks through the knots on the twine and press the tacks into the top of the barn board. This will serve as a way to hang the key holder.
