How to make animal bookends

Anyone who is an avid reader knows that after a while, the number of books you own can add up. Why not make use of all these books and use them as decor?
Bookends are an effective way to give any stack of books a polished look. With these plastic animal bookends, your book collection will look chic in no time. Check out the instructions and video to get started.

Materials
- Barn boards cut to length
- Liquid metal paint
- Paintbrush
- Plastic animal, medium or large size
- Scissors
- Decorative tacks
- Heavy-duty box cutter
- Pencil
- Hot glue gun
Instructions
1. Paint the outside edges of the barn boards with liquid metal paint. Allow to dry.
2. Score the plastic animal in the middle using scissors. This will help you to know where to make the final cut.
3. Cut along the score lines on the animal with the box cutter.
4. Paint each half of the animal with the liquid metal paint.
5. Press in a decorative tack in each of the corners of the two pieces of barn board.
6. Place the front of the animal on the barn board and trace around it with a pencil. Do the same thing with the back piece of the animal on the other barn board.
7. Place hot glue on the areas you traced. Press the animal pieces onto the glue.
8. Place the bookends on either side of a row of books.
