How to make a garden cloche out of chicken wire

Garden cloches are meant to protect plants from bunnies, chickens and other animals, but they also make a great accent piece. This cloche is especially beautiful and could go many places in a home.

Materials
- Tomato cage
- Work gloves
- Wire cutters
- Needle-nose pliers
- Metallic spray paint
- Sheet of plastic
- Chicken wire
- Wire ring
Instructions
1. Trim off the top portion of the tomato cage with wire cutters. (Be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands.)
2. Bend the remaining pieces of the top wires into the center of the cage using the pliers. Trim off any excess wire as necessary.
3. Lay down a sheet of plastic to protect the work surface and cover the tomato cage in metallic spray paint. Set aside to dry.
4. Cut a piece of chicken wire that will wrap all the way around the frame.
5. Starting at the bottom, bend the ends of the chicken wire around the tomato cage frame. Continue until the chicken wire completely encircles the frame.
6. Cut the chicken wire from top to bottom along all three vertical wires of the tomato cage. Wrap the ends of the chicken wire around the frame, snipping off excess chicken wire as necessary.
7. Attach a metal ring to the top of the cloche.
