Tired of boring coasters? Make a chic verison with twigs

No one likes rings on the coffee table, but luckily this can be avoided by simply using coasters. If coasters have to be out and visible on your table at all times, why not make them stylish?
Plain cork circles can be transformed into coasters that protect surfaces and look adorable at the same time, thanks to a few simple supplies. Check out the instructions and video to get started on this easy project.

Materials
- Twigs
- Garden pruners
- Cork circle
- Suede cord
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
DIY Everywhere
Instructions
1. Cut the twigs into the same length with garden pruners. The twigs should be about two and-a-half inches long.
2. Add hot glue to the edge of the cork circle.
3. Press the decorative cord into the hot glue on the outside edge of the circle. Cut off any excess cord with scissors.
4. Add a strip of hot glue to a section of the perimeter of the cork circle. Press a twig into the hot glue.
5. Repeat step 4 until the entire perimeter of the cork circle is covered in twigs, creating a hexagon.
6. Glue another layer of twigs on top of the previous layer. Repeat the layering until about three layers of twigs are attached to the cork circle.
