How to make an herb garden with mason jars

There's nothing more delicious than spaghetti with fresh basil, roasted chicken with rosemary or an elegant sprig of mint in an ice cold glass of tea in the summer. Growing your own herbs is easy with an herb garden. Don't have the yard space? No problem – mason jars provide a solution.
This herb garden is portable and made from mason jars you can hang on the wall, so not only do you not need land but you don't even need floor space. Customize the garden to make it your own so you can add a fresh taste to all of your home-cooked meals.

Materials
- Hose clamps
- Screwdriver
- Small block of wood
- Clamps
- Electric drill
- Piece of wood big enough to attach three jars
- Screws
- Short mason jars
- Chalk paint
- Paintbrush
- Sanding block
- Herb plants
- Potting soil
Instructions
1. Remove the screws from the hose clamps. Set the screws aside.
2. One by one, clamp the hose clamps to a small block of wood and drill a hole through each one.
3. Secure the hose clamps to the piece of wood that will serve as the backing for the herb garden by using clamps to hold them in place. Screw the hose clamps to the wood.
4. Cover the outside of each mason jar with a coat of chalk paint.
5. Once the paint has dried, use a sanding block to gently scuff it up.
6. Screw the hose clamps back together, place a mason jar in each one and tighten each clamp so it will hold the jar.
7. Fill the jars with potting soil and plant your favorite herbs.
