How to make a rose petal tray

Rose petal crafts are right on trend. They're easy to make and affordable. Most importantly, they offer a sophisticated style that suits the decor of many homes. For example, you can use this rose petal tray to add a chic pop of color to a neutral space.
This project takes a basic wooden tray and elevates the style with a touch of whimsy. A little bit of paint provides a reflective surface that amps up the style. The rose petals bring both color and texture to the tray. Place this in a guestroom to make guests feel pampered.

Materials
- 12" x 16" dark wooden tray
- Silver paint
- Paintbrush
- Silk rose petals in white, lavender and plum
- Hot-glue gun
Instructions
1. Use a paintbrush to apply a thin coat of silver paint to the inside bottom of the wooden tray.
2. Apply hot glue around the edges of the first purple silk flower petal. Adhere it to the bottom right corner inside of the tray.
3. Work from left to right, applying the purple petals to the inside of the tray using hot glue. Layer them atop one another, creating a soft bed of petals, in a mixture of the two shades of purple. The purple petals should cover the bottom 2/3 of the inside of the tray.
4. Use hot glue to apply the white flowers to the top 1/3 of the inside of the tray.
