This DIY rolling storage crate can be styled to match various interior design themes. For a rustic or farmhouse look, use a distressed wooden crate and pair it with metal casters. If your home has a more modern or minimalist aesthetic, consider painting the crate in a solid color that complements your existing decor. Rolling Storage Crate
Materials
1 wooden crate (approximately 18x12x9 inches)
4 swivel casters (2 inches in diameter)
16 wood screws (3/4 inch)
Drill with drill bit
Screwdriver
Sandpaper (medium grit)
Wood stain or paint (optional)
Paintbrush (if painting)
Directions
Start by sanding the wooden crate to remove any rough edges or splinters. This will ensure a smooth surface for painting or staining.
If you wish to change the color of the crate, apply wood stain or paint using a paintbrush. Allow it to dry completely before proceeding.
Turn the crate upside down and position the casters at each corner. Make sure they are evenly spaced from the edges.
Using a drill, create pilot holes for the screws in each of the caster's mounting holes.
Secure each caster to the crate by driving screws into the pilot holes with a screwdriver.
Once all casters are attached, flip the crate right side up and test the mobility by rolling it on the floor.
Place your rolling storage crate in the desired location and fill it with items you wish to store.
