How to build your own closet storage

Brad Rodriguez of FixThisBuildThat is the ultimate handyman. He fell in love with woodworking in 2002, according to his website, and has been following his passion ever since. In the following project, Rodriguez shows us how we can fix a messy, disorganized closet at a very affordable price.

Miter saw
Random orbital sander
Cordless drill
4′ level
Materials/Supplies
(4) Large wood crates
(1) Half wood crate
(2) Small wood crates
(2) 8′ 1×4 pine furring strips
(3) 18″ full extension drawer slides
Chalkboard tags
1-5/8 wood screws
Wall anchors

Rodriguez went ahead to mount drawer slides in his closet.
He also built the pallet storage boxes himself and spray painted them blue. 
Then, he simply installed these DIY pallet crates into his closet to achieve this beautiful final look:
