How to make DIY romantic 'conversation stones'

Set on doing something thoughtful for her husband, this woman decided to get creative. Conversation stones were the perfect solution to doldrums talk about work, bills, the kids, and everything else boring and mundane. Valentine's Day was the perfect occasion to bring back the exciting and romantic talk that had waned over the years between Lindsay and her husband.
Lindsay is a mother of two and blogger at My Creative Days. "I love to be creative in my day, my home and with my kids," says Lindsay. She has a self-proclaimed obsession with old wood and rusty treasures. She searches for not only creative, but also frugal ways to decorate and craft with her kids, as well as to cook for her family and keep an organized home.

To make conversation stones and bring more excitement back to the dinner table, you will need a bag of clear glass stones, white glue, scissors, colored printer paper, and a paint brush.
First, think of your conversation starters. Type and print them on the colored paper of your choice. Paint glue on the back of each stone and adhere the cut paper conversation starters face-down to each stone. Paint several coats of white glue onto the back of the paper to ensure it will stick. Wrap the stones in a quaint bag and present them to your partner.

Glass stones are great DIY crafting tools. Use them to decorate a fence, make garden balls, and create garden art to bring snazzy color to your spring garden. Because they come in every color imaginable, glass stones are perfect for holiday decorating. Coupon Closet recommends using green and red stones for Christmas candle holders, but you can easily replace them with red and pink for Valentine's Day or red, white and blue for Fourth of July.
