Mom gives old fridge new life with wallpaper

Over time, kitchen appliances like the refrigerator and dishwasher may rust, collect grime, and be subject to mold growth. Some of these things are preventable, provided that you take good care of said appliances, but others are just a product of old age. Though a fridge door may show signs of age, that's not necessarily indicative of how well the interior is holding up.
If you have an appliance around the house that's rusting or collecting grime and taking away from the appearance of your home, you don't necessarily have to replace the entire thing. After all, you know what they say, it's what's on the inside that counts.

When Tracy Westwater, the creator of General Splendour, determined that her fridge was "ugly and dated," she knew she had to do something about it, but she also knew it didn't require replacing. Tracy did some brainstorming and got to work.
"My first idea was to paint it silver so it would resemble one of those fancy stainless steel appliances," Tracy writes on her blog. That idea never came to fruition, but she had quite the backup plan. To give her refrigerator door the facelift it needed, Tracy first applied primer to the door.
Then came her brilliant idea - to wallpaper the fridge. "Why not - it couldn't get any worse, right?" she asks rhetorically. The answer to her question is debatable, but in the end, her solution turned out quite nicely. After adding the wallpaper, Tracy added trim around the edges. You can see the finished design below.
