Make the perfect indoor or outdoor sofa using wood pallets

One of the most expensive tasks when it comes to home decorating is purchasing furniture for larger rooms. Sofas, sectionals and love seats each offer their own aesthetic qualities and can be mixed and matched depending on the size and theme of a room. While there is some leeway with customization when handling store-bought furniture, the pieces aren't nearly as versatile as sets that are made from materials right at home.
Wood pallets can be used for so much more than just the matters of shipping. The following examples all showcase the stunning outcome of a DIY project that transformed old pallets into material for indoor sofas. The design of pallets makes the wooden squares the perfect platforms for mattresses and pillows, both of which are needed for the ultimate DIY sofa.

The following pallet sofa takes the form of an attractive sectional. Found on Cuartoderecha, the sectional is composed of six pallets, foam material, and bedding, which isn't much considering what a large piece of furniture it is. Whether you're looking for something big or small, every pallet can be cut and shaped to create the desired look.
Don't be afraid to bring out the paint when handling wood pallets. The flat, wooden surface makes it easy and fun to slap on a few coats of your favorite color. YouTuber and avid DIYer Maisa Flora did not hold back when it came time to make her very own sofa bed using pallets.
Flora doused her pallets in a bright turquoise before adding a twin mattress and bedding to the platform. You can watch how she did it on her YouTube video
Pallet platforms can also be assembled without using any paint at all. As is evidenced in the Meu Móvel de Madeira project below, pallets also look just as stunning bare. This example illustrates the simplicity that can be created using just two pallets and very minimal aesthetic effort.
The finished look is very clean and modern; watch the video to see how to pull it  off.

Gina, the mastermind behind Kleinworth & Co., swears by this DIY pallet project. She assures in her blog that neither she nor her husband are professional DIYers, so 'if we can do it – you definitely can too'.
