French-Style Bench
An Oregon Cottage offers a step-by-step guide for making this cute bench. This is a great option for sprucing up antique chairs (modern chairs could work, but you would likely lose the French look). You could opt for added storage underneath the bench to stow away small gardening supplies. Remember to include weather-proof material for the seat cover.
Bookend Chair Bench
This idea from My Repurposed Life offers the solution of putting the chairs on either end of the bench. The blog does indicate a few challenges of this method, such as how easy it can be to make the bench a bit too long. Focus on the size that you want because using the chairs on the end allows you to make it longer which could be a good thing if you have the additional space. Another tip: paint a cute saying along the back of the bench for added charm.
Bench Made with Two Chairs
DIY Everywhere
If you only have two chairs, but are looking for more seating, this could be the perfect fit for you. Don't be scared off by the idea that making a bench has to be complicated. This project is easy enough for almost anyone to make. Get the full tutorial here.
Triple Sitter
This is a charming idea if you have three or more chairs that need to be re-purposed. Deja vu Designs indicates that bracing the chairs for a more rounded look can be a bit of challenge and requires attaching and reattached the arms. However, the distressed look coupled with the fabric takes this bench to the next level.

Don't be afraid to have fun with bold colors and fun prints. As shown by Kindall Creations, mismatching chairs and colors leads to an explosion of color and fun. Be mindful of the fabric you choose if you plan to keep the bench outdoors. The print could fade in the sunlight or get damaged by weather. Plan accordingly.
