Finding a great way to keep your hair out of your face, but still stylish can be tricky. Fortunately, braids offer plenty of opportunities to show a bit of personality in your hairstyle while also being functional. This particular version is pretty but not too soft.

Some folks commented on the Facebook page that this braid may also look pretty with a dutch braid instead of French. This braid works with volume, so you'll want to section your hair and tease it a bit before you get started.

Check out the video above to see how easy this braid is. You'll work in sections, first braiding a top layer, then braiding a second and third section into it. This method adds volume and texture to the look.
While this style starts with dry hair (it's easier to tease dry hair), most hair experts recommend braiding your hair while it's wet or damp, more if it's layered according to Style Caster. You could also braid your hair when it hasn't been washed for a day or two, so it's easier to manipulate.
Make your braid last longer by keeping it neat and clean the first day and then strategically pulling, curling or twisting any loose hairs that fall out for a more casual second-day look.
