Lady buys $3 basket at yard sale and transforms it into the prettiest plant stand

Plant stands are a great way to breathe new life into your home. By incorporating a plant stand into your living space, you infuse design flare, greenery, and life into your home.
There're some amazing ready-made designs out there to buy - but those plant stands are also quite pricey, many times coming in at over $100 at boutiques and design shops. But compiled here are three easy, chic, and cheap do-it-yourself projects to create a stunning plant stand for your home.

1. $5 DIY plant stand
If you've been swooning over similar plant stands in glossy design magazines, it's time to shake yourself out of sticker shock, because 100 Things 2 Do has created a do-it-yourself project to get this very same look.
You are going to need to get your hands on tools like wood, a hammer, and nails - but after you've constructed the base you get to stain and paint the stand to match your decor. We love the pop of turquoise in this one.
2. DIY mid-century inspired plant stand
This is a similar look to the project above - but this project by Cameron Oden is a bit more mid-century with the skinny, rounded legs. We absolutely adore this look - but, what we love even more is that you can create this planter for a fraction of the cost.
To get this look you are going to need to put in some elbow grease, grab some wood, nails, and measuring tools - but in the end, you're going to get something totally boutique worthy.
3. DIY wire basket side table
This creative project by The Shabby Creek Cottage is going to turn your thoughts on baskets and garbage cans on their head - literally.

With some paint, and by turning this pretty wired paper basket upside down they've transformed it into a unique plant stand. You will need to create and stain your own wooden top - but you could also find one that fits, or even use another material like stainless steel or tin. It all depends on the look you're going for, so get creative!
