How to make a cathedral window

Cathedral quilt blocks — a block it seems everyone tends to admire, with its complicated yet beautiful look. The block itself can be quite intimidating, for the seasoned or the new quilter.
So we have found a couple simple and very good tutorials for the tried-and-true cathedral window quilt block.

After spending the weekend watching videos upon videos and looking through tutorials, I happened upon Popular Patchwork's Gardening Leave wall hanging tutorial, and inside it held the best tutorial/diagram for cathedral windows that I have found yet. It is simple, easy and quite effective.
According to Popular Patchwork, you take your larger (9-inch) block and fold in the corners so it makes a smaller block. After that, you fold all the corners in again to make an even smaller block. Once you make one of these, you repeat the process three more times with other 9-inch blocks until you have four blocks to connect together.
After these blocks are connected, you take a separate fabric and set it on top of where two of your small blocks meet, and then you take the edges of the underneath block and fold them over, making the window effect. Repeat until the edges go all the way around in a circle shape.
It might seem slightly tough at first, but after you get going, it gets pretty easy. The end result is amazing.
If you are more of a visual step-by-step person, don't hesitate to watch Missouri Star Quilt Company's video tutorial for a slightly different cathedral window technique:
