How to knit the lotus flower stitch (video tutorial)

Watch the video to learn the lotus flower knit stitch. The lotus flower knit stitch is a beautifully-textured knitting pattern. Once you understand the sequence and get the hang of the stitch, it works up quite nicely! This pattern consists of purling an interesting combination of knitting stitches together and yarning over to keep the amount of stitches constant on your needles.
This pattern is great for blankets, afghans, shawls and scarves. It adds a "wow" factor to your work.

Materials
Any color yarn in a medium weight (in the video you'll see that the cotton yarn used is medium weight).
Knitting needles in the appropriate size for yarn used (9mm needles in the video).
Pro Tip: Keep your stitches looser than you usually would. This will help the stitches move more easily.
Abbreviations
CO - Cast on
P - Purl
p3togm3 - purl 3 together, make 3
p5togm5 - purl 5 together, make 5
Pattern
CO a multiple of 6 plus 1 stitches. The knitter in the tutorial casts on 25 stitches.
Row 1: Purl each stitch
Row 2: P1, *p5togm5, p1; repeat from * across each stitch.
Row 3: Purl each stitch
Row 4: p3togm3,p1, *p5togm5 ,p1: repeat from * until the final 3 stitches and p3togm3
Repeat rows 1-4 until piece reaches your desired length.
End with a purl row
Bind off.
