This unusual crochet stitch gives you a new twist on making the most covetable scarves, throws and blankets.
The slant stitch uses only chain stitch, single crochet and double crochet but manages to produce a wonderful diagonal effect and a rich, chunky texture that will enhance all your projects.

Materials
You can use any yarn on hand for the slant stitch, but a worsted weight does give a satisfyingly chunky finish to the stitch. Check the manufacturer's label for suggestions on hook sizes. Generally, for a worsted weight, you'll be using an I or 5.5 mm hook. You'll also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle for sewing in your ends.

Pro tip: Avoid fluffy or fuzzy yarns with this stitch, as they will blur the definition of the unusual diagonal pattern.
Pro tip: A plain cream or off-white yarn really makes this stitch look like complicated Aran knitting.
