Materials
You can choose any yarn for the shining star stitch. The tutorial features a DK weight yarn, which is an excellent choice, yielding a snuggly yet defined result. A variegated yarn would produce a lovely color-change effect without the need to weave in a lot of ends at the finish of the project. Check your manufacturer's band for suggestions on crochet hook sizes. You'll also need a pair of scissors and a yarn needle.
