Materials
You can use any yarn for this stitch, but a crisp cotton would be perfect for making a spring cowl or scarf. Choose something more snuggly, like a DK weight, if you're making a blanket. Check your manufacturer's band for hook size suggestions. You will also need a pair of scissors and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Abbreviations
ch chain
dc double crochet
sc single crochet
Written pattern
To begin, create a foundation chain in multiples of 2, plus 1 for turning.
Row 1: sc into 2nd chain from the hook, dc into next stitch. Alternate between a sc and a dc until the end of the chain, finishing with a dc. Ch 2 and turn.
To change colors, do not finish last dc in row, when you get to last 2 loops on hook, drop your working color and draw through new color. Either keep old color attached and simply take up again at next row, dropping second color, or fasten off as normal and alternate the two colors.
Repeat row 1 until project reaches desired size.
