Mom picked up old food tray at Goodwill, converted it to brand new furniture

You never really know something's full potential unless you DIY. There's that old saying of "One man's trash is another man's treasure." It really is true.

Instructions
1. Sand all surfaces of the TV tray with fine-grit sandpaper.
2. Wipe the TV tray clean with a cloth or rag to remove any dust or debris left by the sandpaper.
3. Place a flathead drill bit end up onto the top surface of the table and lightly hammer the drill bit into the table. This roughens up the surface to create a rustic farmhouse look. You can do as little or as much of this as you want along the edges and top of the tray.
4. Mix a few drops of water with 1/4 cup of brown acrylic paint. Stir well and paint the TV tray with the mixture. Rub a dry paper towel over the paint.
5. Mix 1/4 cup of water with 1/4 cup of light blue paint. Stir well and paint over the brown paint. Let dry.

6. Using painter's tape, create a star shape over the top surface of the tray and paint the inside of the star with gold paint. Once the paint is dry, remove the tape and paint in any gaps.
7. Let the tray fully dry before moving it to the desired location.
