Grab a necktie and a pair of scissors & copy this DIY clothing

Hair accessories are an effective way to jazz up a boring hairstyle without much added effort, but hair bows are surprisingly more expensive than you might think. This DIY project upcycles an old necktie to make something new and beautiful for your hair. The bonus of an upcycled project? It's cost effective.
A pattern or a color that might be too flashy for a necktie could be the perfect pattern for a hair accessory. Gather old neckties you have that are never worn and check out the video and read the instructions below to see how you can make this cute hair bow.

Materials
- Necktie
- Scissors
- Sewing pins
- Sewing needle
- Thread
- Hairclip
Instructions
1. Starting with the fatter side, fold the necktie over itself about 6 inches. Repeat, folding it over itself again.
2. After folding, cut off the excess and set it aside.
3. Unfold the necktie and refold it, this time tucking in the sides of the fatter part of the necktie. (The necktie will now be even.) Pin the fabric into place.
4. Thread a sewing needle and stitch the loose end of the necktie to the rest of the folded portion of the tie, securing it.
5. Stitch the layers of the folded necktie together.
6. Take the portion of necktie that you set aside and wrap it around the folded necktie. Pin in into place.
7. Sew this piece of the necktie so it is securely attached to the other part of the soon-to-be bow. Cut away any more excess fabric.
8. Take a plain hair clip and slide it onto the bow. Clip the bow tie into any hairstyle.
