How to make modular shelving from plastic crates

Modular shelving is one of the best ways to add some extra storage to a room, especially when you're working with a limited amount of space. You can set the shelves up however you like, and you can always move them around if necessary.
Plus, if you make the shelves, you can paint them whatever colors you want. It doesn't get any easier than this modular shelf setup, so gather a few plastic crates and start crafting. Once they are done, you can fill them with your favorite things.

Materials
- Plastic crates
- Spray paint
- Tarp or drop cloth
Instructions
1. Place the first crate on the tarp or drop cloth and completely coat it with spray paint.
2. Repeat the process for all the other crates, remembering to paint one in a different accent color.
3. Once the crates have dried, bring them to the desired location. Place two of them next to each other, one vertical and one horizontal.
4. Place the other two crates on top to create a square, making sure to place a horizontal crate on the vertical crate and vice versa.
