Materials
- Small terra cotta pot and saucer
- Red paint
- Brown paint
- Lime green paint
- Paintbrushes (one small and one large)
- Modeling clay
- Faux leaf
- Candle wick
- Clothespin
- Candle wax
- Scissors
Instructions
1. Apply red paint with the large paintbrush to the inside and the outside of both the terra cotta pot and saucer.
2. Mold a piece of the modeling clay with your hands so that it resembles the stem of an apple.
3. Press the clay stem onto the bottom of the terra cotta saucer. Slide a single faux leaf into the stem near the base.
4. Mold another piece of the clay into a worm-like shape. Paint the clay worm with lime green paint, making sure to add a little dot of brown paint to give it an eye.
5. Paint the stem with brown paint.
6. Attach the candle wick to the clothespin and place it inside the terra cotta pot. This will help to keep the wick upright when pouring in the wax.
7. After making sure the wick is centered, pour in the candle wax.
8. Once the wax has dried, remove the clothespin. Cut down the wick so that the terra cotta saucer can rest on top.
