Rub soap over terracotta pot, create beautiful decor for your home

This simple terra-cotta pot cupcake stand is an effective way to add some shabby chic decor to a food display at any get-together. Even if it is just a simple gathering of close family members, this DIY project is an easy way to make the event a little more special without much cost or effort.

Materials
- 3 terra-cotta saucers (small, medium and large)
- 2 terra-cotta pots (large and medium)
- Bar of soap
- White chalk paint
- Paintbrush
- 150-grit sandpaper
Instructions
1. Take the bar soap, and rub it against the large terra-cotta saucer, so that the soap transfers onto the saucer.

2. Paint the saucer with chalk paint.

3. Once the paint is dry, sand the saucer with 150-grit sandpaper.

4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 on the remaining saucers as well as the terra-cotta pot.

5. Stack the pots and saucers on top of one another, starting with the largest saucer. Put the largest pot upside down on top of the saucer. Repeat with the medium-sized saucer and pot and top with the smallest saucer.
