How to make a planter box from old drawers

Planters are a necessity if you want to fill your home with beautiful plants and flowers, but buying brand-new ones from the store can be expensive. Instead of spending your money on that, why not make your own planters by upcycling old drawers?

Materials
- Old drawer
- Wrench
- Piece of cardboard
- Paint
- Large paintbrush
- Metallic acrylic paint
- Small paintbrush
- Sanding block
Instructions
1. Make some dents into the surface of the drawer with the sharp end of the wrench, giving it a weathered look.
2. Place the drawer onto a piece of cardboard, facing down.
3. Paint the drawer with the large paintbrush, making sure some of the original wood can be seen peeking through. Let the paint dry.
4. Cover the drawer handle with the metallic paint using the small paintbrush.
5. Gently scuff up the drawer to your liking with the sanding block.
6. Fill with soil and plants.
