This wine cork votive DIY instantly sets the mood for any room

It's always wine o'clock somewhere, especially if you're a big wine lover. Whether you're having a romantic evening with your partner or a fun dinner with friends, wine is just what you need to enhance the experience. A pretty candle or two doesn't hurt, either.
Of course, being a wine lover means you'll always have a few spare wine corks kicking around the house. Why not use some of them to make this beautiful votive holder? Watch the video and check out the instructions to see how it's done.

Materials
- Wine cork
- Cutting mat
- Utility knife
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun
- Metallic green paint
- Paintbrush
- Glass votive holder
- Decorative rocks
- White votive
Instructions
1. Place the wine corks on the cutting mat one by one, and carefully slice them lengthwise with the utility knife. Use the scissors to trim off any loose bits.
2. Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to wrap around the first wine cork half, and hot glue it into place. Trim the ribbon if necessary. Repeat with the remaining cork halves.
3. Paint the outer top rim of the votive holder with the metallic paint and set aside to dry.
4. One by one, hot glue the wine cork halves onto the outside of the votive holder to form a border.
5. Place a few rocks in the bottom of the votive holder and set a candle on top.
