How to make a crate planter

No home is complete without a house plant or two, but what are you supposed to do if you don't have any planters? You could buy some, but it can be more fun to make your own out of a wooden crate.
This crate planter is very easy to make, and the best part is that you can choose to make it whatever size and color works for your space. Watch the video tutorial and check out the instructions below to learn how it's done.

Materials
- Chalk paint
- Plastic palette
- Wooden crate
- Paintbrush
- Geotextile fabric
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Rope
- Potting soil
- Plants
Instructions
1. Pour a small amount of paint onto the palette.
2. Coat the outside and top edges of the crate with chalk paint. Set aside to dry.
3. Cut a piece of geotextile fabric big enough to cover the inside of the planter and use the hot glue gun to secure it.
4. Hot glue a piece of rope around the top edge of the crate for decoration. Cute off any excess.
5. Fill the new planter with potting soil and plant a few succulents or flowers.
