How to make a palm tree with a pool noodle

Palm trees are such a festive way to bring a summery, tropical feel into your home, but what are you supposed to do if you simply can't keep a palm tree alive where you live? Get a fake one, of course.
Fake palm trees can be pricey when you buy them already made, but this DIY version is much less expensive. Watch the video and read the instructions if you want a step-by-step guide to making one to grace your space.

Materials
- Pool noodle
- Burlap ribbon
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Twine
- Faux palm fronds
- Basket or planter
Instructions
1. Hot glue one end of the burlap ribbon to the top of the pool noodle, leaving enough hanging over the end to fold over.
2. Wrap the ribbon around the noodle until it's completely covered in burlap. Cut off any excess ribbon, again leaving enough to fold over the end.
3. Fold the excess ribbon over each end of the pool noodle and hot glue it into place.
4. Wrap a length of twine around the top of the tree trunk, hot gluing the twine in place at both ends.
5. Wrap an extra piece of burlap ribbon around the top of the tree under the twine and hot glue it in place.
6. Stick faux palm fronds into the top of the pool noodle tree.
7. Repeat to make as many trees as you'd like, and display them in a basket or planter.
