How to make a cardboard jewelry tray

Do you need a better place to put your jewelry than on your bedside table or on the top of your dresser? If you do, this simple little jewelry tray might be a simple solution. It's an easy, inexpensive DIY project that you can whip up in just a few minutes.

Materials
- Cardboard
- Quilting ruler
- Pencil
- Cutting mat
- Utility knife
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Decorative paper
DIY Everywhere
Instructions
1. Place a sheet of cardboard on the work surface and measure out a 6-by-6-inch square with the quilting ruler.
2. Put the cardboard onto a cutting mat and use the utility knife to cut out the square.
3. Draw a line on each side of the cardboard 1/2 inch in from the edge using the quilting ruler and a pen,
4. Cut out a small square from each of the corners where the lines overlap.
5. Score along each of the lines with the utility knife. Fold up each flap to form the tray. Hot glue each side into place.
6. Trace the shape of the tray onto a piece of decorative paper and cut it out with scissors.
7. Hot glue the paper into the bottom of the tray. Let it dry completely before adding any jewelry.
