Materials
- Cutting mat with marked measurements
- Cardboard
- Permanent marker
- Quilting ruler
- Scissors
- Bandana
- Chalk
- Sewing pins
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Embroidery floss
- Tassels
- Needle
- Beads
- Needle-nose pliers
Instructions
1. Measure and cut a piece cardboard 8 by 10 inches.
2. Place the piece of cardboard onto the bandana and use a piece of chalk to trace around the edges. Cut along the lines and fold the piece in half with the wrong side facing out.
3. Fold one of the top edges down approximately 1 inch and pin it in place. Pin the remaining two sides together as well.
4. Stitch the fabric on these sides together, removing the pins as you go.
5. Remove the pin from the top flap of the case. Fold in the fabric slightly on the side, then fold it down again and pin it in place. Fold it down all along the top of the case, and fold in the other side as well.
6. Secure it with pins and stitch the fabric together. This will create a sleeve at the top of the case.
7. Trim 1/2 inch of fabric off the other end of the case, and cut off one of the corners. Trim off any excess fabric on the other side of the case as well.
8. Turn the case inside out. Thread a needle with the embroidery floss and pull the floss through the sleeve at the top.
9. Tie a knot in the string where it enters the case, and thread a bead and a tassel onto it. (Use needle nose pliers to push the needle through the center of the tassel if necessary.)
10. Tie off the end of the string to hold it in place, and repeat this step for the other side of the drawstring.
