How to make a pennant banner with bandanas

Pennant banners are such a cute way to decorate for a party, and they're so easy to make yourself. This DIY banner is a clever way to use bandanas whether you have unused ones at your place or can buy some inexpensive ones.
You can have fun choosing the colors and patterns. For instance, how about a pink or blue banner for a baby shower, one in team colors for the next TV viewing party or a banner using the guest of honor's favorite colors for a birthday party? Materials
- Bandanas
- Triangular piece of cardboard or paper
- Chalk
- Scissors
- Sewing pins
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Embroidery floss
- Long needle
- Tassels with loops (can be different colors)
Instructions
1. Fold a bandana in half and use chalk to trace the outline of a triangle on it, making sure that one of the edges is along the crease. Cut out the triangle and repeat until you have enough to create a banner as long as you want.
2. Pin the pieces of each pennant together approximately 1/2 inch under the top edge.
3. Stitch the fabric together along that line, removing each pin just before the sewing machine's needle hits it. This will create a sleeve for the embroidery floss.
4. Thread a piece of embroidery floss through the long needle. Run the floss through the sleeve of each triangle to string them together, placing a tassel after each one.
5. Continue until the banner is as long as you'd like and cut the floss, leaving at least 6 or 8 inches on each end.
6. Tie a knot onto the tassel on each end so it can dangle. Add a loop to the very end to provide a means to hang the banner.
