Instructions
1. Open both sides of a pom pom clover and wrap one side entirely with black yarn. Wrap the yarn up and down the arm of the clover twice ensuring the entire surface is covered.
2. Once the middle of the clover is reached, loop the yarn over the center point and continue wrapping the second side of the clover until the entire surface is covered. Double wrap the second arm as well.
3. Connect and close the two sides of the pom pom clover.
4. Beginning at the center of the clover, split the yarn down the center line with small crafting scissors following the circumference of the clover. Cut any excess yarn once complete.
5. Cut a 10-inch piece of black yarn and loop it around the center of the pom pom clover. Tie a knot at the top of the clover and cut the two ends to approximately 4-inches.
6. Remove the clover and fluff the yarn pom pom according to taste and style, cutting edges to even lengths as desired.
7. Repeat this process utilizing brown yarn, white yarn and blue yarn to create a total of approximately 64 yarn pom poms of varying colors.
8. Unfold a 5-foot piece of mesh utility fabric on a flat surface.
9. Use a sharpie to draw a unique rug pattern approximately 4-feet in width across the mesh utility fabric. Draw wavy lines for a more personalized shape and carefully cut the pattern out.
10. Beginning at one end of the pattern piece, pull the two string ends of a single pom pom through the utility mesh and tie a secure knot on the backside.
11. Continue to tie and secure yarn pom poms onto the mesh pattern, placing one directly next to the other and alternating colors until the entire pattern is covered.
12. Cut away any excess yarn on the backside of the rug and proudly display on any floor in the home!
