How to make a lamp with PVC pipe

It's not quite steampunk, but this DIY lamp definitely gives off an industrial vibe. Despite its complex look, this light fixture is easy to make and goes with any modern décor. For those not into modern, use the lamp as a conversation piece or art.
White PVC is fine to use, but it won't display the cord that enhances the industrial look. However, using white PVC allows you to paint the piping any desired color, which might be what you need to add an original touch to a room.

Instructions
1. Make a small “x” on the bottom of the connector (at the center of the bottom of the top connector). Cut out a hole where the mark is using a drill and hole saw bit.
2. Attach a 10-inch PVC piece to one connector hole. Repeat for the other 10-inch pipe. Place end caps on the ends of the pipes. These are the legs.
3. Insert the 16-inch pipe into the top connector hole. Attach one end of an elbow to the top of the 16-inch pipe. Angle it so it bisects the two 10-inch legs.
4. Attach the 6-inch pipe to the other end of the elbow. Attach the remaining elbow to the end of the 6-inch pipe. Angle it down.
5. Feed the pendant light cord, plug first, through the open elbow end, the 6-inch pipe and second elbow. Take apart the pieces as you go.
6. Feed the cord through the 16-inch pipe until it reaches the hole cut in step 1. Reassemble what you took apart.
7. Reach through the hole and pull out the plug, switch and enough cord to keep the bulb raised from the table. Attach the bulb.
